The Institute for Advanced Architecture first showed its ongoing research into the American Funeral Home at the Oni Gallery in Boston. Opening on January 26, 2001 and running for a month, the "exhibit explore[d] the paradoxes in the timeless dynamism of post-modernity epitomized, through the catalysis of death, in the American funeral home."
